Nestled along the picturesque River Thames, southwest of London, One Nine Elms stands as a beacon of modern residential living in one of the city’s most dynamic and rapidly developing areas.
Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions Corporation is proud to have contributed to this prestigious project by supplying seven high-speed elevators, each a testament to cutting-edge technology and design.
A quadruplex group of three 13 person NexWay lifts and one 17 person NexWay lifts at 5.0m/s servicing up to 52 floors and a triplex group of two 13 person NexWay lifts and one 17 person NexWay lift at 5.0m/s serving up to 36 floors.
One Nine Elms exemplifies the fusion of luxury, functionality, and innovation, showcasing Mitsubishi Electric’s dedication to enhancing residential and commercial spaces through sophisticated elevator solutions.
One of the standout features of this installation is the application of Mitsubishi Electric’s advanced jump lift method.
This innovative approach involves a specially designed machine room unit that can be installed directly within the hoist way. Unlike traditional installations, where a machine room needs to be constructed at each stage of the building’s development, this method allows the elevator to function seamlessly even before the final machine room is completed. The unit's ability to be lifted and repositioned as the building progresses enhances construction efficiency and promotes resource conservation.
The jump lift method is becoming increasingly popular in high-rise buildings across the UK due to its significant benefits. At One Nine Elms, it not only streamlines the construction process but also supports the building’s sustainability goals.
In keeping with the luxury and sophistication of One Nine Elms, Mitsubishi Electric has integrated advanced features into the elevators, including the Destination Oriented Allocation System (DOAS) and a state-of-the-art touch-panel destination control hall operating panel. These features, typically found in office buildings, offer an elevated user experience by efficiently managing elevator traffic and providing intuitive controls.
The elevators also include a special VIP operation mode for the penthouse floor, which can be activated through the touch-panel hall operating panel, ensuring a bespoke experience for residents of the top-tier suites.
In line with Mitsubishi Electric’s commitment to accessibility, the touch-panel hall operating panels are designed in accordance with the European standard EN81-70. This ensures that the panels are user-friendly for visually impaired individuals, featuring a barrier-free design that accommodates all users with ease.
